Flashback Friday... Sort of

Holidays around the world at Epcot, one last outing before baby.

Well its not quite Friday but I figured since we are only 1 hour away it will be ok :) we are going to flash back 11 and a half weeks ago when I was as big as a house, completly miserable, and had some pretty scary looking ankles! Let me pop the bubble for all you super moms who love being pregnant, I hated it! now dont go getting all judgemental just yet, I didnt hate all of it. I loved the end result and I loved feeling her move and kick! However, I hated being large (lets just say me and the scale were fighting and still arent that great of friends anymore...) and swollen boy was I ever swollen! All of my beautiful shoes that I could barely squeeze my fat little piggys in let alone let alone walk in just sat in my closet lonely and collecting dust. but then 11 weeks ago to the day my beautiful baby girl got here and she was worth all 41 weeks of swollen sleepless nights and countless bathroom breaks!
Evie a couple minutes after she was born!
I couldn't have asked for a better baby shes absolutely perfect and I think she will end up with a shoe collection that will rival my own!  I am so very excited to start the next chapter of my life with her in tow! We have some pretty big journeys ahead of us and they are sure to never be dull!

Leavin on a jet palne

So I'm laying in bed still (calm down it's only 8 am) and Evie has her face securely nuzzled into my elbow (that's how she likes to sleep) and I figured I'd update this, get excited!
Well we successfully went on our first cross country trip and it was great, Evie did wonderful on the plane she slept though the whole thing there and back which is more than I can say for myself! I thought that maybe, you know since I had an obvious newborn with me, that the person assigning the seats would think " I'm going to sit her next to a really skinny person who doesn't stink!" but no, they didn't think that. So I got to sit next to large marge who was a little smelly and spilling over into my seat. I still have dents in my arm from basically rapping the window I was so close to it!
But it was worth it to spend a week with my family and to show off my beautiful baby girl! Evelyn and I had a great time, even though her cousin Gavin got sick a few days in and we were forced to find alternate accommodations for the rest of the week but we still had fun! And we got to go to my nieces 3rd birthday party. I have to admit I have a really poor track record of attending my sisters kids birthdays... But I do honestly try to make them it just doesn't pan out sometimes! I can honestly say that I have one amazing family, I mean how many people can say they have the amount of love and support from their families that I do? Not many and that makes me a little bit sad.
Anyway our flight home was another story indeed! There was one other person in my row, a skinny business type man who smelled nice! So I had the freedom of both arm rests!

 Evie and Pepaw
she was worn out after all that partying!

almost natural labor!

So December 22nd at about 7 pm I was admitted to the baby place at my hospital for what was sure to be a routine induction, right? Wrong...  but lets not get ahead of ourselves! Everything started out normal I went in they sent me straight into my ever so luxurious labor and delivery room and nurse came in and introduced herself and gave me a quick run down of what the next 8 hours would entail, (however what neither of us knew at that point was that my little princess had plans of her own that didn't include waiting until the morning to start the pitocin!) So I slipped into my fashionable hospital gown snuggled my feet into my hello kitty slippers and turned on the tv and waited for the nurse to come back with the meds that were supposed to "ripen" my undialated cervix. She gave me the meds at 9:30 and told me she would check my cervix again at 1:30am to see if we had made any progress... and as luck would have it when 1:30 rolled around my cervix was still "a dimple" as she described it, I was sure at this point that I literally was never having my baby and was doomed to a life long pregnancy! so she went on to do whatever it was that she was doing and I decided to at least TRY to sleep, but then at about 1:45 my back started to hurt really bad and so i asked the nurse if i could have something to help with the pain not thinking I was in labor  then I went from 0 centimeters to 10 in 45 minutes!  I did get my epidural but not until I was already at 9... it was a very intense hour and a half but then at 3:22 am on December 23rd my peanut was here!

It has now been a week and 4 days and I still can't get over how pretty she is! I am VERY biased but I really do think shes a pretty baby!  She is so alert and awake more than she is asleep which is odd for a newborn but I don't mind because she has the most amazing eyes and I like to see them! We are going to get her newborn pictures done tomorrow with Amy Robertson photography and shes amazing so I am very excited to see how these turn out! Alright I could go on for days about how in love with my little girl I am so I'm gonna stop here and bid you all adue!

Until next time, au revoir mon cherie!
