almost natural labor!

So December 22nd at about 7 pm I was admitted to the baby place at my hospital for what was sure to be a routine induction, right? Wrong...  but lets not get ahead of ourselves! Everything started out normal I went in they sent me straight into my ever so luxurious labor and delivery room and nurse came in and introduced herself and gave me a quick run down of what the next 8 hours would entail, (however what neither of us knew at that point was that my little princess had plans of her own that didn't include waiting until the morning to start the pitocin!) So I slipped into my fashionable hospital gown snuggled my feet into my hello kitty slippers and turned on the tv and waited for the nurse to come back with the meds that were supposed to "ripen" my undialated cervix. She gave me the meds at 9:30 and told me she would check my cervix again at 1:30am to see if we had made any progress... and as luck would have it when 1:30 rolled around my cervix was still "a dimple" as she described it, I was sure at this point that I literally was never having my baby and was doomed to a life long pregnancy! so she went on to do whatever it was that she was doing and I decided to at least TRY to sleep, but then at about 1:45 my back started to hurt really bad and so i asked the nurse if i could have something to help with the pain not thinking I was in labor  then I went from 0 centimeters to 10 in 45 minutes!  I did get my epidural but not until I was already at 9... it was a very intense hour and a half but then at 3:22 am on December 23rd my peanut was here!

It has now been a week and 4 days and I still can't get over how pretty she is! I am VERY biased but I really do think shes a pretty baby!  She is so alert and awake more than she is asleep which is odd for a newborn but I don't mind because she has the most amazing eyes and I like to see them! We are going to get her newborn pictures done tomorrow with Amy Robertson photography and shes amazing so I am very excited to see how these turn out! Alright I could go on for days about how in love with my little girl I am so I'm gonna stop here and bid you all adue!

Until next time, au revoir mon cherie!
